Feeding Therapy
At Therapy Adventures, we love feeding therapy because we enjoy helping children learn to love food as much as we do!
If your mealtimes are tough for any reason, we’re here to help. We have worked with a variety of patients from birth to 18 years old and we know how stressful feeding difficulties are on the whole family. Our goal is to help your family find mealtime solutions that work best for you. We are realistic in our treatment plans and will never ask you to do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing with your child. We truly believe if children aren’t having fun in feeding therapy, something needs to change! For that reason, we follow a Responsive Feeding Therapy approach that emphasizes exploration, facilitates the (re)discovery of internal cues, curiosity, and motivation, while building skills and confidence. Responsive Feeding Therapy is evidence-based and considered best practice by the World Health Organization, Pan American Health Organization, and American Academy of Pediatrics. It is flexible, prioritizes the feeding relationship, develops trust between caregiver and child, and respects and develops autonomy.

We help support babies in their feeding development via therapy and consultative services. We work with bottle feeding difficulties, food refusals, transitioning to solids, and everything in between. Whether you need just a bit of guidance with a consultation, or more regular services, Therapy Adventures is here to help get your little one on the path to a healthy life long feeding journey.
Breastfeeding
With a Certified Breastfeeding Specialty combined with our knowledge of infant oral motor skills and development, we provide a unique perspective when working with families to improve the breastfeeding experience. We can help determine optimal feeding positions, evaluate latch, frequency, and duration of feedings. We have worked with parents to establish and maintain milk supply, improve baby’s suction and milk transfer, and establish feeding after tongue- and/or lip-tie revisions. Feeding and Oral Motor Difficulties
We figure out the reason behind what might be considered “problem behavior” and treat the cause, not the symptoms. Feeding difficulties and behaviors typically develop from a lack of skills. We provide your child with the skills they need to succeed. Our unique hybrid approach of services in the clinic and in your own home work well together to target feeding difficulties. Say goodbye to stressful mealtimes!
Picky/Selective Eating
For children that have struggled with picky or selective eating, we work to expand the variety in their diet. We help determine if your child’s picky eating is sensory based or oral motor based and work with them to learn about foods in a safe environment that builds their confidence in trying and exploring new foods. We have experience with a wide array of typically developing “picky eaters,” restrictive eaters, and food aversions such as ARFID.
